Audio loudness normalization guide

Compatible audio formats

Normalize common compressed, lossless, and grabación archivos, then exportar MP3, M4A, FLAC, or WAV. Actual decoding depends on the codec inside the archivo and your navegador.

MP3

Ideal para music sharing, phones, cars, and most subir platforms.

WAV

Uncompressed PCM audio for editing, mixing, and production workflows that need original detail.

M4A

Efficient AAC audio for Apple devices, mobile playback, and smaller sharing archivos.

FLAC

Lossless compression for music libraries, archives, and later editing.

How to normalize audio volume en línea

No installation, account, or subir is required. Elegir an audio archivo, inspect its levels, seleccionar a target, and descargar the local resultado.

  1. 01

    Añadir an audio archivo

Soltar in an MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, or Opus archivo, or buscar your device.

  2. 02

    Elegir a loudness target

Iniciar with -14 dBFS for music, -16 dBFS for podcasts, or -23 dBFS when you need broadcast-style headroom.

  3. 03

    Check pico protection

The normalizer limits the applied gain so peaks stay below -1 dBFS and clipping is less likely.

  4. 04

    Vista previa and descargar

Comparar the source and resultado, then descargar as MP3, M4A, FLAC, or WAV when it sounds derecha.

Common audio normalization use cases

When tracks play at noticeably different levels, loudness normalization reduces manual volume changes and makes playback or editing smoother.

Podcasts and interviews

Bring guests, microphones, and grabación environments closer together so listeners do not keep reaching for the volume control.

Music playlists

Make songs from different albums or sources feel más consistent in a personal library or mobile player.

Vídeo voice-over and courses

Prepare narration antes editing so dialogue, voice-over, and background music are easier to balance.

Broadcast and delivery

Use a lower target with más headroom when the archivo will go through mastering, review, or a delivery specification.

Your audio stays on your device

The Archivo API, MediaBunny, and a Web Worker read, analizar, normalize, and encode the audio in your navegador. Source archivos are never sent to MediaKit servers; clearing the archivo or closing the page releases local URLs, Worker resources, and resultado memory.

FAQ

Audio loudness normalization FAQ

Are my audio archivos uploaded?

No. Analysis and normalization run in a Worker on this device, and the archivo is never uploaded to MediaKit.

What is loudness normalization?

It estimates how much gain to añadir or eliminar from the medio nivel, while checking peaks so different archivos play at a más similar loudness.

Which target should I elegir for music, podcasts, or broadcast?

Try -14 dBFS for music, -16 dBFS for podcasts, and -23 dBFS for broadcast-style headroom. Follow the destination platform or project specification when one exists.

Will a quiet archivo always get louder?

Usually, but pico protection can limit the gain when the original peaks are already high. That avoids clipping even if the medio target is not fully reached.

Does normalization reduce audio calidad?

MP3 and M4A require lossy re-encoding. Elegir FLAC or WAV for later editing or archiving, and keep the original source archivo.

Can I use this on a phone?

Yes. Use a recent navegador, keep the page open during procesando, and allow enough memory for large archivos.
