Private, local GIF processing
Your selected files are passed directly to a Web Worker in this browser. ImageBitmap decodes each frame, OffscreenCanvas sizes and composites it, and gifenc creates the GIF. The source images and generated file are not uploaded or stored on our servers. Remove the frames or close the tab to release local memory.
Why this page does not use FFmpeg or MediaBunny
This workflow needs a GIF image encoder, not an audio/video container transcoder. MediaBunny is used elsewhere for modern video and audio processing, but it does not provide GIF output here. A small dedicated GIF encoder keeps the download lighter, and moving it to a Worker keeps the interface responsive.

No. Decoding, resizing, color reduction, and GIF encoding run locally in your browser.
Why does GIF use fewer colors?+
GIF frames can contain at most 256 palette colors. Choosing 64 or 128 colors often makes a smaller file, while 256 better preserves gradients.
Why is my GIF file large?+
GIF is less efficient than modern video formats. Reduce the output width, choose fewer colors, remove unnecessary frames, or increase frame durations.
Can every frame have a different duration?+
Yes. Set a default duration for all frames, then select any thumbnail and give that frame a different delay.
What happens when my images have different sizes?+
The first image defines the output aspect ratio. Contain shows each whole image with a background; cover fills the canvas and may crop edges.
Can I convert an animated GIF input into multiple frames?+
Not on this page. An uploaded GIF is used as one source image. Use the GIF editor for an existing animation, or add separate still frames here.
Why can a very large image fail?+
GIF encoding needs an indexed copy of every output frame and can use substantial memory. Choose a smaller width or fewer frames for reliable browser processing.
