FAQ

자주 묻는 질문

내 영상이 업로드되나요?

No. The selected video is read and processed locally in your browser. It is not sent to MediaKit or any third-party server.

Can I blur more than one area?

Yes. Add up to six independent areas and position or resize each one before exporting.

움직이는 얼굴을 흐리게 할 수 있나요?

The current version applies fixed areas to every frame. For a moving subject, use a larger area or export shorter segments with the video trimmer.

오디오가 유지되나요?

The original audio track is kept when the MP4 output and the browser codec support it.

Why is export slower for large videos?

Every frame must be decoded, composited, and re-encoded. High-resolution or long videos need more CPU time and memory; closing other heavy tabs can help.

Video blur guide

Blur faces and sensitive details in a video online

This free video blur tool lets you cover one or more fixed areas in a video and export a new MP4. Use it for faces, license plates, private messages, addresses, screens, or any detail that should not be visible. No account or upload is required.

Supported video formats

The picker accepts common phone, camera, screen-recording, and editing-app exports. Actual decoding depends on the video codec supported by your browser.

MP4

Best compatibility

Recommended for phones, messaging apps, social platforms, and most browsers.

MOV / M4V

Apple and camera exports

Useful for iPhone, iPad, and camera footage; output is converted to MP4.

WebM

Web-friendly video

A good choice for browser recordings and modern web projects.

MKV / AVI

Existing media files

Accepted up to 2 GB; support depends on the codecs inside the container.

How to blur a video

Protect a video in four steps. The source remains on your device throughout the workflow.

  1. 01

    Add your video

Drop one MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI, or M4V file into the tool.

  2. 02

    Place the blur areas

Move the selection over a sensitive detail. Add up to six areas and resize each one with its corner handles.

  3. 03

    Preview and tune

Play the preview, use arrow keys for precise positioning, and adjust the blur strength.

  4. 04

    Export and download

Render a new MP4 locally. Download it when the progress reaches 100%.

Common use cases

A fixed blur area works well when a sensitive detail stays roughly in the same place throughout a clip.

Privacy-safe screen recordings

Hide email addresses, chat messages, customer data, API keys, or notifications before sharing a tutorial.

Faces and license plates

Cover a face, vehicle plate, badge, or home number in footage for a quick privacy edit.

Product demos and reviews

Hide unreleased product details, account identifiers, or private dashboards in a recording.

Social and community posts

Prepare event footage, street scenes, or user-generated clips before posting publicly.

How private is the processing?

The selected File is passed to a local Web Worker. MediaBunny reads the container, WebCodecs decodes and encodes the video, and OffscreenCanvas composites the blur on each frame. The source and result stay in your browser; nothing is uploaded or stored on our servers. Remove the file or close the tab when you are finished to release memory.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is this video blur tool free?

Yes. You can blur a video and download the MP4 result for free, without signing up.

Can I blur multiple areas?

Yes. Add up to six independent fixed areas. Select an area from the settings panel, then move or resize it in the preview.

Does it track a moving face automatically?

Not yet. The current workflow applies fixed areas to every frame. Use a larger box, shorter segments, or the video trimmer when the subject moves.

Which output format is created?

The tool exports MP4. The video is re-encoded so the blur can be applied frame by frame, while the original audio is kept when browser support allows it.

Why can an AVI or MKV file fail?

A container can hold many different codecs. Even when the extension is accepted, your browser may not have a decoder for the video or audio stream. MP4/H.264 is the most reliable input.

Does the blur permanently hide the information?

The downloaded MP4 contains the rendered blur. Still review the result before publishing, especially if the sensitive detail is large, high-contrast, or moves outside the selected area.

Why does a long video take time?

Blurring requires decoding, compositing, and encoding every frame. Resolution, duration, frame rate, and the number of areas all affect processing time.
