스테레오 to mono guide

Supported audio formats and exports

Read common MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, Opus, WMA, and AIFF audio, then export WAV, MP3, M4A, or FLAC. Whether a file opens depends on the codec inside it and the browser.

WAV / FLAC

추천 용도 editing, mixing, and archive work. WAV is uncompressed PCM; FLAC preserves quality while using less space.

MP3

A compatible, smaller choice for everyday playback, sending, and uploads.

M4A (AAC)

A compact choice for Apple devices, mobile playback, and sharing.

Multichannel audio

The tool downmixes audio to one channel. Confirm the channel layout in a professional workflow for important surround projects.

How to convert stereo audio to mono online

No installation, account, or upload is needed. The current browser uses MediaBunny and a background Worker to read, analyze, and encode your file locally.

  1. 01

    Add audio

Drop in or choose a file. The page builds lightweight left/right peak waveforms in the background instead of moving full PCM audio to the UI thread.

  2. 02

    Check the mix

Compare left, right, and mono-mix peaks. A mono source is clearly shown as a preserved single channel.

  3. 03

    출력 형식을 선택하세요

WAV and FLAC are useful for more editing; MP3 and M4A work well for sharing. Set 128–320 kbps for compressed exports.

  4. 04

    미리보기 및 다운로드

Listen to the export, make sure no important content is missing, then download the mono file.

When do you need mono audio?

모노 puts audible content in one channel, making it particularly useful where stereo placement cannot be reproduced reliably.

Podcasts, interviews, and voice

Phone speakers, smart speakers, calls, and accessibility playback are often mono or near-mono; downmixing helps listeners avoid missing one side of a conversation.

Location recording and lessons

Mix channels to make two-microphone recordings more complete when played through ordinary speakers.

Public address and sound systems

Stores, exhibits, meeting rooms, and single-speaker systems commonly benefit from a mono signal.

Compatibility checks

Export a mono reference before publishing a video, track, or course to spot important sounds that exist only on the left or right.

Your audio never leaves this device

This page uses the File API, MediaBunny, and a Web Worker to analyze and encode audio in the browser. Source files are never sent to MediaKit servers; removing a file, cancelling a job, or closing the page releases local object URLs and Worker resources.

FAQ

스테레오 to mono FAQ

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. There is no upload step. Files are processed only by a background Worker in your current browser.

How are left and right mixed into mono?

The output downmixes channels into one. For ordinary stereo, the browser media pipeline uses standard downmixing so content from both sides can play through one speaker.

Does conversion reduce audio quality?

Downmixing changes the channel layout. WAV and FLAC avoid additional lossy compression; MP3 and M4A are re-encoded and better suited to smaller sharing files.

Can I use an audio file that is already mono?

Yes. Its one channel is retained and re-exported in your selected format.

Why can’t some files be opened?

Support depends on whether the browser can decode the codec used inside the file. Update the browser or convert the file to WAV, MP3, M4A, or FLAC first.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Use a recent browser, keep the page open for large jobs, and leave enough device memory available.
