This policy explains what MediaKit does — and does not do — with your files and information. The short version: browser tools process media locally on your device.

The short version
Media processing stays in your browser. We do not receive your media files, and browser-based tools do not require an account.
Your files stay on your device
All media processing happens directly in your browser using WebCodecs, WebAssembly, and Web Workers. Your browser reads the file locally so it can process it, but MediaKit servers do not receive, store, or access your media. Your videos, images, and audio files do not leave your computer during browser-based processing.
Personal data and accounts
MediaKit does not use tracking cookies or collect personal information for browser-based tools. If you choose to create an account, we store only the minimum information needed to provide the account: your email address and optional display name. Passwords are hashed and are never stored in plain text.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used and improve the experience. These services may process technical information such as page views, device or browser details, and approximate location. Cloudflare Web Analytics is designed to provide anonymous, aggregated statistics; Google Analytics is provided by Google and may use cookies or similar identifiers. We do not use analytics to read the media files processed in your browser.
Data storage and security
Account data, such as an email address and hashed password, is stored in Cloudflare D1, a serverless SQL database. Authentication tokens are JSON Web Tokens (JWT) signed with a secret key. User-uploaded media files are not stored on our servers.
