Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. Image decoding, pixel sampling, color clustering, and exact picking all happen in this browser.

Why can a dominant color differ slightly from the image?

The palette groups similar pixels into representative colors. Click the image when you need the exact value of one pixel.

Does it support transparent PNG files?

Yes. Fully transparent pixels are ignored; visible and partially transparent areas take part in the analysis.

How can I use the colors in a design or codebase?

Copy individual HEX, RGB, or HSL values, copy the full palette, or download CSS custom properties.
